Escape Room origins

Welcome to all our readers!

Let’s start our column of articles dedicated, with this article we will try to explain where and how the Escape Room was born in the world. First of all, let’s start our article by trying to “dig” in the past years to find some news (hard to find some valid prooves…) that will give us confirmation on where the Escape Room was born. Our favorite game seems to originate in Japan and in the East in general, after which it develops in the United States and subsequently arrives in Europe.

Behind it all, there is this question: What is an Escape Room?

The most famous games in Escape Room are those for smartphones (who has never played it?) And those in boxes (classic board games), so it is obvious that our favorite game was born for fans of skilled games on smartphones, but then, subsequently, it comes to life in reality and becomes a real immersive game. The game has simple rules, the group of players (2-12 on average) have 60 minutes (in some structures 90-120 minutes) to try their hand at games of logic and skill to be able to “escape” from the room and win!

In this latest pandemic period, our beloved Escape Rooms have been forced to close their doors, we know well how entertainment has been one of the most affected fields. Many owners in this period have tried to find new formats…but we will talk about this soon in our next articles.

Stay tuned...
